ORDINANCE NO. 2009-01
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE WATER USER RATES AND CHARGES UNDER THE VLLAGES
CODE 8-1-3B IN THE VILLAGE OF ASHKUM, IROQUOIS COUNTY, ILLINOIS
WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees of the Village of Ashkum, after having made substantial improvement to the Village's water system at great expense, recognize the need to amend the water user rates and charges (Section 8-1-3B of the Village Code);
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Trustees of the Village of Ashkum, Iroquois County, Illinois as follows:
I. Effective the first billing
cycle commencing 10 days following the publication of this ordinance, the
following rates shall be effective:
"B. User Rates and Charges: The
following rates shall be paid by each customer who has signed the user's
contract, beginning at the time the Village makes the service available
to the customer. The minimum rate will be paid by those customers not using
the service even though they may be connected to the system, provided the
service not available from the Village.
"1. The minimum bi-monthly bill (every
2 months) shall be $12.50, which shall cover the first 5,000 gallons used,
but shall be payable irrespective of the actual use.
"2. Usage in excess of 5,000 gallons
bimonthly (every 2 months) shall be billed at $2.50 per thousand gallons.
II. Effective the first billing cycle
commencing after June 30, 2010, the following rates shall be effective.
"B. User Rates and Charges: The following
rates shall be paid by each customer who has signed the user's contract,
beginning at the time the Village makes the service available to the customer.
The minimum rate will be paid by those customers not using the service even
though they may be connected to the system, provided the service not available
from the Village.
"1. The minimum bi-monthly bill (every
2 months) shall be $15.00, which shall cover the first 5,000 gallons used,
but shall be payable irrespective of the actual use.
"2. Usage
in excess of 5,000 gallons bimonthly (every 2 months) shall be billed at
$3.00 per thousand gallons.
This Ordinance shall take effect from and after the date of its passage, approval and publication, as provided by law.
